“New York is a diamond iceberg floating in river water.” ― Truman Capote
So I’m back! Still a little foggy in the head and my heart still beating in the centre of Manhattan. This trip to New York was definitely more ‘touristy’ than last time I visited. With my family in tow we very much stuck around Midtown for the most part when we weren’t hopping on tour buses and making our way Downtown to see the Statue of Liberty or walking down to Chelsea Market.
Despite a more restrictive schedule I think it’s fair to say I was more than happy to return to familiar sights and sharing my favourite places with my parents and sister. I’ve decided to name these little recap posts ‘postcards’ rather than a ‘travel diary’ as didn’t take as many photos as I did the first time I visited. Plus it was freezing cold this time round and I much preferred keeping my hands nice and toasty in my pockets than having them exposed around a camera in the brisk winds.
