The majority of the fashion week goodness is over and as everyone gets to grips with the newest trends and collections, it’s also worth taking note of the scene it’s presented it. And I’m not talking about the FROW…I mean the showspace.
From Chanel‘s impressively huge globe to Stella‘s aristocratic backdrop to the more minimalist settings of Christopher Kane and Miu Miu, visual atmosphere each designer chose for their showspace was just as important as the clothes they chose to go down the runway.
What do you guys think? Were you as impressed with the showspaces this year as I was?

First of all Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely mums, especially my own mum =) we’re taking a family out for some retail therapy and good food as you read this, so I’m coming to you from the past *cue TARDIS noise :P*.
Anywho, a good ol’ week where Britain got the tiniest bit of sunshine…and will once again plummet back to chilly weather again next week (just as I was getting optimistic about being able to jump into Spring). Which is shame really, as I even noticed my quick ‘Year In Workwear’ record seemed to look a little brighter thanks to the morning sunlight. I do miss taking full on outfit photos on my camera but taking a quickie shot on my phone in the morning is a) all I have time to do and b) much easier than lugging the camera out, making sure the whole outfit is seen, making sure I look halfway decent in the shot, setting up the right angles and ISOs etc. That being said I’m on the hunt for a cheap and powerful compact and have cornered two that I’m willing to aim for savings-wise. Perhaps it’ll inspire me to check off my ‘take more photos’ items on my 2013 resolutions list.
Speaking of timescales, I only realised the other day that I’d been working full-time at my placement for 7 months! How crazy is that? Not only do I feel like I’ve been there for years, but time has just flown by. Only 5/6ish months to go until I head back into Academia for my final year at Uni =|
One other important coundown…LeakyCon comes about a little sooner at about 4/5 months now. Acts are starting to filter through and though my two favourite people may not be there *cough*John & Hank Green sob*cough* I’m still ridiculously pumped for it! Is it too early to be looking for a dress for the Saturday Night ball? Of course not!
Even sooner than that? My 21st birthday at the end of April…er…=S
And then before that? April’s Camp Nano, reviews for Blogger’s Bookshelf, possibly a bookshelf tour for here, and desperate fashion week/blog life catch up….
Phew…that sufficient enough an update?…think I might need a lie down after all that.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a wishlist item, but I spotted these whilst window shopping on the H&M site and couldn’t resist. Florals are always a big trend during Spring collections, but H&M have given them a little twist. Bright and bold on pitch black backgrounds, the prints aren’t quite the usual ditzy/pretty florals we’re used to seeing in Spring. The skirt in particular reminds me of the ol’ ? ink blot tests.
They’re a little different and perfect for that instant wardrobe update.
