Soundtrack: Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses

Almost there! Still feeling very festive, especially after visiting Winchester Christmas market yesterday. If you’ve never been down, it definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the area. There’s always lovely crafted goods and treats all in little wooden stalls plus sweet treats and mulled wine. I also had the first of my Christmas do’s this week at La Margarita’s, which was pretty fancy to be honest. Other than that it’s been good to get my Christmas shopping mostly done and start wrapping up everything work-wise before Christmas.
I’ve got a busy week ahead before I can relax though. I’m back at Uni tomorrow for a placement catch up before a last week of pre-Christmas/end of year bits and catch ups with old friends who are home for the holidays. Woop!

In blogging news don’t forget to enter my giveaway! It ends on Friday and I’d love to see more of you entering :) Also don’t forget to check out the latest collab post written by myself, Lucy and Kath on Blogger’s Bookshelf about our NaNoWriMo experiences, not to mention all of our reviews on there! It’s still not too late to get involved as a guest blogger on there and we’d love to see some great reviews in the New Year. Just email Blogger’s Bookshelf if you’re interested!

  • High fashion in the highlands | Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show at Linlithgow Palace, Scotland

It’s not often one of fashion’s biggest power houses makes its way any further north than London town, but Chanel braved the frosty chill of the highlands of Scotland to showcase this year’s Metiers d’Art collection.
The Parisian brand took over the grounds of Linlithgow Palace – the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots – just on the outskirts of Edinburgh in spectacular fashion.
The theatrical medieval setting provided a stunning backdrop to a collection swathed in tartan, ruffles and luxurious layering, perfect for a winter’s day. The rich woolen textures were peppered with gemstones and Elizabethan hair and make up made for a collection that almost felt like it had the McQueen stamp of approval on it. In true Lagerfeld style the collection was bold and dramatic…and I expected no less to be honest.

  • Wishlist Item[s]…my infinite Christmas budget wishlist

    Christmas wishlist 2012
Charlotte Olympia ‘Kitty’ flats | £465 | CharlotteOlympia.com | Beyond adorable, beyond lusting at this point now. Since laying my eyes on this little pretties I haven’t quite been able to get them off my radar. Seen on stylish Hollywood starlets like Taylor Swift and Alexa Chung, they’re obviously a blogger’s best friend.

Mary Katrantzou cashmere scarves | £304 each | Net A Porter | It’s no secret that Katrantzou’s designs are hot property at the moment, the graphic prints splashed across whole collections aren’t just wonderful designer pieces but wearable works of art. Which is why something as simple as a scarf can be transformed completely thanks to Ms Mary’s magical touch.

Anthropologie nipped brocade dress | £118 | Anthropologie.com | My love for Anthropologie knows no bounds, let’s face it I’d put the whole store on my Christmas list if I could! So I thought I’d pick something a little festive. I love the simplicity of the dress here, in gorgeously festive red of course, but it’s the embellished peter pan collar neckline that really catches my attention.

Knomo London ‘Helena’ handbag | £235 | Knomobags | Surprise, surprise…not a Mulberry ;) I remember spying a couple of reviews of Knomo’s bags on a couple of fellow blogger’s posts a few months back and the site’s been bookmarked ever since. Not only seriously stylish, but every commuter/blogger’s prayers answered…a pretty handbag with a quilted compartment for stashing your laptop/ipad. No more bulky laptop cases! Wahey! Would definitely admit I would probably cry if I found this under my Christmas tree this year!

Bottega Veneta ‘dark reseda’ cashmere jacket | £2,485.00 | Bottega Veneta.com | Since I started blogging Bottega Veneta has become one of my favourite designers to look out for during fashion weeks. So it’s no surprise that it’s made it on this list. This cashmere coat is just luxuriously preppy and will love amazing once the Spring sunshine comes around again.
