    2013 in memories2013 memories
    2013 was the year I…

…finished my professional placement and started up my final year at University.

…hit two blogging milestones: 3 years with Wishing For Chanel and 150 followers!

…spent a summer revealing in geekiness at LeakyCon London with my best friend Kath.

…met some of my personal heroes in the form of Team Starkid, Hank Green, Evanna Lynch, Melissa Anelli and made new geeky friends at said convention.

…stepped out of my comfort zone and reached out to the blogging community both online and IRL.

…went travelling to the HP Studio tour, Brighton, London (multiple times) and Salisbury

…saw more musical theatre, both professional and amateur.

…celebrated 1 year with Blogger’s Bookshelf and finally met my co-captain Erin!

…reconnected with old friends and cemented the friendships I already had.
My oh my it’s very nearly the end of 2013 and this morning I emptied my little memory box that I started filling at the start of the year. My definite highlight was LeakyCon in the Summer, but reading back some of the smaller memories from catch ups with friends and silly things I’ve fangirled over.
I was actually struggling to remember what actually happened this year! It’s safe to say 2013 went by me in a blur and I’ve got a funny feeling 2014 is gonna fly by just as fast.
There’s already a lot to look forward to both big (finishing University D:), small (seeing Taylor Swift :P) and undetermined (NYC? A new job?). As cliched as it is, a new year is a new start and I’m both scared and excited to begin again!
  • 2013 New Year’s Style Resolutions Revisited

Well hello! I’m back after a break and hastily wrapping up the year (in between working flat out at my part time job! Gotta love Sale season!).
If you can cast your mind back as far as last January, as per tradition, I set up 5 style resolutions for the year. A lot has definitely changed since then, but let’s see how I got on with them…
    2013 resolutions revisited Get Creative
    #1 Get Creative.
When I set this goal I was mid-way through my Placement year and was stuck in a style rut. I wanted to branch out a little from the usual office wear but also needed to bear in mind the fact I’d be working in a very formal setting. Never the less I did experiment a little bit with my work wear and changing offices (and therefore getting rid of my long commute) definitely helped. My style choices didn’t break boundaries but I had a bit more fun with what I wore during my last few months! Check out my year in workwear round up to get the full scoop on the whole year’s retrospective!
    2013 resolutions revisited Beauty Buys
    #2 Beauty buys
Oh yes, I can tick this one off for sure. 2013 was the year I got addicted to beauty bloggers/vloggers and those ladies had me lusting over beauty products like coffee in the morning. I’ve done some beauty posts and reviews this year and I also, for the first time ever, had a set morning beauty routine and favourite products, which I may post about at some point in the future.
    #3 Size up
I think I nailed this one too? I’ve accepted my shape and size for the first time ever, and am sticking to clothes I’m actually comfortable in for once. It’s helped that I’ve been able to veer back into my casual wear since being back at Uni – oversized t-shirt and jumpers! Yay! – but I’m consciously looking for the right sizes in shops now. This also includes footwear – which my feet are grateful for!
    2013 resolutions revisited Fancy footwork
    #4 Fancy footwork
I’m giving myself a 50% on this. Like I said above I’m wearing the right sizes now and am shopping for comfort but I’m still a sucker for cheap and pretty shoes. Ah well…
    2013 resolutions revisited WWED
    #5 What would Dianna do?…And Emma…And Taylor…
Another 50% here? This one was pretty hard to judge, because to me, I simple don’t have these ladies wardrobes *le sigh*. I do feel like I’ve adopted a more preppy edge to my wardrobe, a la Emma/Taylor, and do think I favour more ‘classic’ looking pieces now rather than adopting the latest trends. Though I’m putting that more to age than anything :P
So there we go 3/4-ish out of 5 resolutions isn’t too bad right? Keep an eye out for my 2014 list in the next few days ;)

    Two Weeks #16
    – New Daisy perfume review – Layers, layers, layers – Remembering a legend – Winchester Christmas Market – My first Christmas card this year! – Winter Wonderland – Ferris Wheel at Winter Wonderland – Wagamamas catch up with the blogging ladies – Nelson Mandela monument at Southbank – Winter Spice candles – OOTN for my work Christmas do’ – Cocktails nom – Christmas Jumper Day Yo’ – Christmas Wrapping – Early pressie from Erin – Glitter polish time! –

Aha! This is gonna be a quick one even though I have about a billion things to say! Since I worked full-time last year I forgot just how hectic December can be leading up to Christmas when you’re a student and working part-time in retail…nevertheless!
I have been a busy bee with blogging the past few weeks. In case you missed any of my Festive Fortnight posts I linked all of them up for you in a handy dandy round up post. The two weeks straight of blogging was in celebration of this blog’s 3rd birthday – crazy huh!
Having met up with my blogging ladies at Winter Wonderland this month and with the end of the year is a good time to take stock of the blog and where I want to go with it in 2014. I know I need to get my head in gear next year, especially with University slowly consuming my soul (and I’m aware this is only going to get worse!). So I’m probably gonna sporadically blog during the holidays before – hopefully – a bit of a revamp in time for the new year!
