  • Trés Jolie | Petite Mila on Etsy

Etsy really is an absolute treasure trove of goodies right? Run by graphic designer, Caroline, Petite Mila is a quaint little brand which sells prints, totes and make up bags, adorned with the original artwork.  At the moment there are five distinct mini collections, Amérindien, Bavard, Coloré, Pastel, and Stylé, all of which are equally pretty and totally covetable, so much so that I found it very hard to pick just five of my favourites (one from each collection)…

  • Inspiration #12 | An ode to street style

    fashion week street style

Ah fashion week! Though my eyes are, obviously, scanning the runways and looking forward to London, Paris and Milan’s shows, it’s still very hard to ignore the media circus that surrounds the secluded designer tents and venues. Teetering on high heels, dressed to impressed and – let’s be honest – clutching an iPhone to Instagram their OOTDs, the street style pack will always be out in force giving the runway models a run for their money. Though, of course, the models and celebs can be part of this sartorial pack, the majority of these stylish street style mavens are a mix of bloggers, photographers and socialite dah’lings who are decked in the decadent and chicest clothes.

  • Downtown Aesthetics | Hellessy Spring 2015

    Hellessy-Spring-2015
One of my favourite things about a new fashion season is seeking out fresh talent and hidden gems amongst the more recognisable designer names. Two year old label, Hellessy, was just one of my standouts I spied from New York this weekend.

Designer Sylvie Millsten’s background is a melting pot of different cultures. A born and raised Parisian, she spent some time working at Chanel, but also lived in Japan before moving to America. Despite her love of Japanese minimalism, this Spring collection is the perfect homage to the enviable Soho cool of urban New York. It’s unsurprising to hear then that her muses for this collection are downtown art gallery owners who love a mix of business and street style casual.

A mix of cool greys, creams and olive greens, this Spring collection it colour heavy but oozes year round, grown-up city cool. The silhouettes are sleek, again a reference to the simplicity of the Tokyo minimalist scene, but subtle pinches of fabric and stunningly beautiful draping create points of interest in each piece. That mixed with the occasional pop of colour, mustard yellows and then a welcome warm blood orange, keep it from fading too far into the background.
