Just when you think it’s starting to become Spring, the cold comes back to bite you in the ass (excuse my French). Ah English weather. You unpredictable thing you. In other news, new books and new reads. I’m really happy with how much I’ve gotten back into reading so far this year, it was one of my new year’s resolutions too so I’m definitely powering through. My other style resolutions seem to be falling by the wayside at the moment. I’ve not really been motivated with my own personal style as much as I used to be, but that may be to do with this awkward mid-season phase with the weather and I just haven’t had time to catch up with much of the fashion week collections or magazines. Hoping this will change in the next few weeks, I want to spend some time just going through Style.com and literally pick favourites and trends out for posts…that’s if I don’t get sidetracked by Tumblr and Pinterest #Oops.

True to my resolution and my GoodRead’s challenge, I’m determined to get back to reading more this year. So I thought a little monthly update and mini reviews would be a nice thing to fill you guys in one every month…
Catcher In The Rye | JD Salinger
First book down of 2013 after receiving it as a Christmas present, this was one that’s been on my ‘To Read’ list since I was about 16. I’ve done a full review of this on Blogger’s Bookshelf, so you can go check out my full thoughts there. I have skimmed a couple of pages since then and do have a much better view on the book, especially after watching a lot of John Green analysis on the book and characters on YouTube.
Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight | Jennifer E. Smith
Something nice and fluffy, I’m actually already writing a review for this, again for Blogger’s Bookshelf so keep an eye out on there for it. Initial thoughts was that it was a really good, fun and light hearted teen read and totally made me want to meet an alluring and attractive boy on a plane lol.

Pride & Prejudice | Jane Austen
A re-read thanks to my mini obsession over the Lizzie Bennett Diaries and my need to refresh my mind of the whole story. I read this as a teenager so it was nice seeing it through slightly older eyes. I found myself empathising with Lydia’s character a lot more in the book thanks to the YouTube series and completely forgot Charlotte had a different ending than in the vlogs.

All These Things I’ve Done | Gabrielle Zevin
This one I got out on a whim in the library. This is actually the first Zevin novel I’ve read and I was quite honestly a little underwhelmed. The premise was really cool for a dystopian, kind of a mix between Delirium and a Mafia story, but the whole thing just fell flat after a while. The characters and the world had so much unexplored potential so this let me down.
So four in a month isn’t too shabby right? ;) And with my Kindle in transit, who knows how many I’ll get through in February?
If you were smart you’d have seen my mini plugs for Blogger’s Bookshelf, the collaborative book blog I run with the ever-lovely-and-organised Erin. I do two reviews a month on there, alongside a team of equally bookish ladies, and am also trying to keep up a reading challenge I’ve set myself.
If you fancy getting involved too, wing us over a review of your own by email (bloggersbookshelf@gmail.com) or contribute to our monthly group collab post! Next month’s asks ‘Who Is Your Favourite Fictional Couple?‘ and why?

Rain, rain, go away and stop ruining my shoes. Oh British weather you are such an inconvenience sometimes, especially when I’m trying to find decent puddle proof shoes for work – any suggestions? So the rain’s here, the nights pitch black dark and I’m getting a cold. Winter is upon us people! And it’s a month till Christmas – seriously it’s December next week, how mental is that!
The cold weather has given me ample excuses to indulge in hot drinks, nights spent Nano-ing and reading, and my favourite past time…sleeping :P
But in all seriousness it’s probably time to get a bit more productive – which will be easier once Nano’s over in a week eek! – and start getting excited for the festive season right? Not to mention the fact that Wishing For Chanel is soon hitting it’s second birthday….exciting stuff ;)
