  • Top Crops | The Celebrity Cropped Hair Trend

    Jennifer-Lawrence-cropped-hairstyle
When Jennifer Lawrence hit the red carpets for The Hunger Games press tour there was something distinctly different about her…her newly cropped pixie do’! From a rock chick quiff to elegantly sweep back, she (and her undoubtedly talented hair team) have been getting creative with her new hairstyle.
And she’s not the only one who’s recently reached for the scissors.
Hollywood stars like Beyonce and even Pamela Anderson, have all taken the risk and gone for shorter locks. The trend has been popular with young Hollywood too. Emma Watson is the obvious kick-starter, after she famously shed her Hermione hair when the films stopped rolling. Shailene Woodley also recently cut off her lusciously long brown hair for her role in The Fault In Our Stars (and donated her hair to charity too!), following the footsteps of Anne Hathaway who also cut her own hair off on camera for Les Miserables. Then off course there’s Miley Cryus’ now infamous undercut, which – I admit – I’m coming round to.

What do you guys think? Would you ever go as short as JLaw? Or maybe hit the halfway point like Emma Watson and Beyonce?

  • Chopped Off | New Summer Hair-Do

    hairdo-Summer-2013
I got a haircut. Yep. The lion’s mane of unmanageable, self cut hair has been lobbed off – at least for the Summer. My lovely friend Jess’ mum’s a hairdresser with a salon in their house, so I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone, catch up with her and and get ‘ma’ hair did’.
It’s funny how much a chop rewire your hair routine and the way I style it. I’m currently taking cues from Dianna Agron‘s Glee Season 3 do’ and Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club at the moment, but I’ve been scrolling through Pinterest for more inspiration.
I’ve also now been told that my hair isn’t as thick as I thought, in fact it’s actually quite fine and there’s just lots of it! So as well and styling advice, I’m searching around for new hair products to keep it healthy – especially as I use so much heat on it. Any suggestions??
  • Hair Inspiration: The Faux Bob

    Something a little different!
You guys should know by now that I can’t resist a big ol’ movie premiere. So when the cast of the Dark Knight Rises arrived in London this week, I was on hitting up my favourite gossip sites to get a glimpse of the red carpet style. But whilst everyone was gawping at Anne Hathaway her lovely glittering gown, I took note of the gorgeous Marion Cotillard. Not only was her styling choices on point, but her hairstyle really caught my attention.
Marion usually sports long dark locks either loose or swept up into a chignon, but she went for volume in an amazing faux bob.
If you remember, I made the New Year’s Resolution to experiment with my hairstyles and this one seems like one for me to try out now that my hair’s grown out.

The faux bob is a surprisingly popular style on the red carpet. Normally curled and paired with retro styling [a la Taylor Swift] or a messy alternative to the more formal up-do. It’s perfect for those who are longing to try out the shorter hairstyle but aren’t quite brave enough to go for the chop yet!
I’ve browsed around YouTube for a while for a decent tutorial and have embedded two of my favourites, one for a more ‘everyday’ look and the other for nights out.
So what do you think? Will you be giving this look a go?

    Keep on wishing…
