  • Postcards From New York | Spring In NYC

I spoke last week about Spring in bloom here in the UK, but New York was looking equally as beautiful (despite a pretty drastic temperature drop whilst I was out there).

Ironically the header image up there was taken whilst we were wandering around Hell’s Kitchen (much prettier than Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock’s usual haunts), but it was one of the first glimpses we got of the oh so pretty flowers that were budding on the trees all around the city. The High Line park was especially gorgeous to walk down on a sunny afternoon with all the trees lining the paths starting to show signs of white and pink flowers, plus the budding shoots of green leaves too!highline-blossoms central-park Flatiron-Park

I’m forever fascinated by the juxtaposition of the parks in NYC against the huge concrete structures and skyscrapers. I can’t help but love the look of all the delicate pieces of nature set against the city’s sharp angles, exposed brick work or shining glass. It’s all so pretty and obviously oh so Instagram-able ;)

Make sure you check out the rest of this NYC travel series over the next couple of days, and for more New York wanderlust check out my posts from 2014 too.

  • Postcards From New York | The Re-Runs

“New York is a diamond iceberg floating in river water.”
     ― Truman Capote

So I’m back! Still a little foggy in the head and my heart still beating in the centre of Manhattan. This trip to New York was definitely more ‘touristy’ than last time I visited. With my family in tow we very much stuck around Midtown for the most part when we weren’t hopping on tour buses and making our way Downtown to see the Statue of Liberty or walking down to Chelsea Market.

  • Inspiration | Spring in Bloom

“Is the spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”…
“It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…”
    – The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett

I know, I know a post about flowers and greenery and that smell of a new season in the air *I can see you yawning through the screen*

Honestly the idea that Spring air, the days getting longer, and the sight of blossoms on the trees are really doing good for my general wellbeing. I adore the cosy embrace of Autumn and the euphoria of Summer, but I think it’s far to say I don’t fair well in the Winter – and this one seems to have gone on forever. Though the cold snap is still present here and the intermittent rain showers are still ever present in England, the flowers are slowly creeping out and so is the sunshine between the cracks of cloud.

    Let the sun shine in!
