The majority of the fashion week goodness is over and as everyone gets to grips with the newest trends and collections, it’s also worth taking note of the scene it’s presented it. And I’m not talking about the FROW…I mean the showspace.

From Chanel‘s impressively huge globe to Stella‘s aristocratic backdrop to the more minimalist settings of Christopher Kane and Miu Miu, visual atmosphere each designer chose for their showspace was just as important as the clothes they chose to go down the runway.

What do you guys think? Were you as impressed with the showspaces this year as I was?

Valentines Day may be far, far behind us at this point that doesn’t stop me from lusting over Jenny Packham‘s romantic f/w13 collection.
Though the collection finished up in stunning style with darker blue hues and Gothic, tulle gowns, it started off with pretty pastels. The shades hint at faded Autumnal palette but the blush-like shades scream Spring too, with the gowns just floating down the runway subtly embellished and with detailed floral accents everywhere.
Not content with just the dustier floral shades, the collection also featured an array of bold statement ‘Little Red Dresses’. From slinky body cons to fairytale-esque pieces, there really was something to suit any woman’s taste from this season’s collection.

It’s not often one of fashion’s biggest power houses makes its way any further north than London town, but Chanel braved the frosty chill of the highlands of Scotland to showcase this year’s Metiers d’Art collection.
The Parisian brand took over the grounds of Linlithgow Palace – the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots – just on the outskirts of Edinburgh in spectacular fashion.
The theatrical medieval setting provided a stunning backdrop to a collection swathed in tartan, ruffles and luxurious layering, perfect for a winter’s day. The rich woolen textures were peppered with gemstones and Elizabethan hair and make up made for a collection that almost felt like it had the McQueen stamp of approval on it. In true Lagerfeld style the collection was bold and dramatic…and I expected no less to be honest.
