  • Pure nostalgia: Christian Dior Spring 2012 Couture Collection

The Spring 2012 Couture collections hit the runways around the world this week and as stunning as each collection was there was one that caught my eye for all the right reasons. Bill Gaytten’s second collection for the Christian Dior was simply stunning.

It was a collection for the modern Grace Kelly in every woman, with flashes of Mad Men-esque inspiration, every look screamed of a more glamorous era. From the elbow length gloves to full skirted dresses and retro hair, everything was just so…chic!

As well as a good dose of vintage nostalgia, Dior’s final few looks were dramatic. Think bare flesh subtley hidden under sheer fabric and red carpet worthy princess gowns. I tip my hat to you Mr Gaytten for producing such a breathtaking collection.

Who I want to wear it…Dita Von Tesse, Christina Hendricks, Dianna Agron, Anne Hathaway, Rooney Mara & Mila Kunis
  • Wishlist Item…

Bow Back Gems Dress [Light Blue denim]
    Mulberry
    £650 from Mulberry.com
It was such a dull and rainy day here in the UK today so I thought I’d try cheer myself up by finding a very Summer-y wishlist item. I love all the light blue that’s around for S/S12 and after seeing Jennifer Lawrence in this shade while announcing the Oscar nominations today I hit up the internet and found this pretty little Mulberry dress. It would be just perfect to sit around in the park sipping lemonade once the sun appears!
  • Wear the runway now…S/S12 Aztec Prints

BCBG Max Azria, Burberry, Sass & Bide, Alberta Ferretti

Looks like one of my favourite trend’s from last Summer is making a comeback and it’s a good one! Aztec prints were back on the S/S12 catwalks and back into our wardrobes. This time the print is bigger and bolder and mixed with the geometric trend that’s also floating around too.
At the moment the colours are more subtle and still working around the darker A/W shades but I’m sure once the sun hits the UK there will be plenty of bright tribal aztec prints ready for the Summer festival season.
