  • Aloha! | The Comeback Of The Hawaiian Shirt

    Hawaiian-shirts-trend-header
No longer reserved for middle aged men on Caribbean cruises, the printed Hawaiian shirt is making a comeback into the mainstream in a big way. As with any dubious trend it’s all about how you style it, so below I’ve got four ways you can rock this tropical trend.

The first look is floaty and feminine. With the shirt tucked into a basic maxi skirt and all matching wooden, earthy accessories, this look would be great at fancy Summer get-togethers or day out in the City. The next look is one for those Summer music festivals. Pair the shirt with high-waisted shorts and comfy Keds, along with aviators and a straw trilby for instant indie cool. Roll the sleeves up for when the sun comes out though!

The third takes on a retro feels, inspired by those pretty pin-ups from the 40’s and 50’s. Tuck the shirt into a figure hugging pencil skirt, and dress up with killer heels and slick red lips. On the opposite end of the spectrum, for something more street. Urban-ize the Hawaiian print with a bomber jacket, sneakers and skinnies. The knuckle ring will come in handy if anyone questions your taste!
So what do you think? Will you be helping resurrect the Hawaiian print from style Siberia?

I can’t be the only one who was salivating over Temperley London’s Resort 2014 collection, right? In true Temperley style the whole collection is full of feminine shapes, beautifully crafted prints and floral details, plus Summer garden party ready sun dresses above. The look is easy to replicate, look for fit and flare styles are currently all over the high street at the moment all in sickly sweet candy colours – embellishments and cut out lace patterns are also a plus.
Below are a couple of dresses I’ve found around the Internet, all of which would be great for lazy picnic days or Summer weddings. Styling-wise, don’t go overboard on accessories and let the dress do the talking.

  • Feet First | Lusting Over Statement Heels

    statement-designer-heels

It’s always easy to reach for those staple simple heels on a night out but there’s a change a-foot (har de har har). Statement shoes are everywhere at the moment and are a welcome change from the standard black/navy/cream you would normally reach for on a night out. I know I recently did two posts on minimalism, but teaming these with a simplistic outfit would be a match made in heaven.
Full of amazing architectural details, prints and loud colours, I found these lovely pairs on Net-A-Porter. Right now I’m leaning towards the Sophia Webster and Givenchy pairs, I think it’s the strap details on both of them so very cool.
Thoughts on statement heels? Yay or nay?
