After having a good catch up on fashion news and collections, particularly ones from Resort 2013. The great thing about resort collections is that it’s so easy to take inspiration from them and apply them this Summer.

One of the easiest to incorporate was from Bottega Veneta’s collection. Like it or not maxi dresses have become a Summer staple and the chic minimalist style from Bottega Veneta is found everywhere. In terms of styling keep it simple like the maxi dress with metallic jewellery, sandals and wedges.

There’s a strange trend floating around Hollywood and fashion circles. Is it the influence of the cold weather? Have all these stars been inspired by superhero mega hit The Avengers? Or is this fashion’s newest way to set yourself apart from the crowd?
Whatever the reason the cape seems to be here to stay. From Hollywood starlets to alternative musicians alike the cape everyone seems to be channelling their inner Superman (or in this case Superwoman). Most recently Fan Bingbing wowed the Cannes crowd in a gorgeous ‘Elie Saab Couture’ gown and matching cape.
The F/W 2012 runways have been alight with capes too, from Dolce & Gabbana to Elie Saab

So keep an eye out once the shops start stocking for Autumn, you may find yourself wrapped up in some serious fabric. But don’t shy away, embrace your inner Super hero!

    Keep on wishing

  • Wear the runway now…S/S12 Aztec Prints

BCBG Max Azria, Burberry, Sass & Bide, Alberta Ferretti

Looks like one of my favourite trend’s from last Summer is making a comeback and it’s a good one! Aztec prints were back on the S/S12 catwalks and back into our wardrobes. This time the print is bigger and bolder and mixed with the geometric trend that’s also floating around too.
At the moment the colours are more subtle and still working around the darker A/W shades but I’m sure once the sun hits the UK there will be plenty of bright tribal aztec prints ready for the Summer festival season.
