Wishlist Item | Inspired by Emma Watson
L’AgenceCotton-twill and faux fur hooded coat£525 from Net-A-PorterI’m sure by this point you’ve all seen the photo of Emma Watson bright-eyed and enthusiastic for her first day at Oxford University [the photo’s below if you haven’t]. And like many of us in the UK, she wrapped up against the chilly Autumnal winds in a comfy coat.I don’t think this is the exact coat but it looks just as great. It’s a great neutral colour that’ll stay on trend for years to come and fur lining will definitely protect you against the cold.A great addition to my wishlist I think! And here’s the photo if you haven’t seen it – I give it two weeks till she’s running around with a stress frown instead of a smile ;D ah the joys of being a student! -
If I went to fashion week | Practicality vs Extravagance
As New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and London Fashion Week around the corner the lowly fashion blogger in me starts to wonder what exactly I’d wear if I was going to these amazing shows [which I’m not sob].
I think it’s a dilemma for those attending the events, whether to wear something that is stylish and practical enough to navigate sweaty catwalk rooms and crowds, or whether to [excuse my language] screw it! And go for an outfit that will turn the heads of Grace Coddington, Anna Wintour and the many street style bloggers that will be in force during the week.
Here are my picks….So here’s my practical outfit. This outfit would accommodate running around, getting really hot and networking. Lots of pockets and a sturdy satchel bag to put cameras, phones, business cards and invitations would be extremely useful, as would the knee-high leather boots with a reasonable heel [especially with the erratic weather during London Fashion Week].
I chose the Elizabeth & James blouse as it would be thin enough to keep you cool in the heat of a catwalk tent and will still look great under the H&M blazer I’ve featured too. The rings are there to add a pop of colour to the outfit.
The extravagance outfit is all about standing out from the crowd. The main colours are fairly muted but the added details of lace, leopard print, geometric shapes and a colour blocking clutch will help keep the outfit from looking bland. The t-shirt/skirt combo is something I love seeing in street style shots, it’s so simple but can add a bit of edge to an outfit. And nothing can beat a classic trench coat!So which outfit would you go for?Ria Xx -
Wishlist item | A/W Knitwear edition
It’s September! And it’s time to put away those Summer shorts and dig out the warm winter knitwear. Here I’ve picked out some I wish I was snuggling up in this Autumn.
- Ralph Lauren Poncho: I’ve said before on my blog that ponchos have definitely made a comeback this Autumn. They’re in every high street store in all sorts of Incan prints. I love colours of this Ralph Lauren one, it’s all so Autumnal.
- JCrew Sweater: Who says you have to pack away the bright colours in Winter? I love the pop of orange in this J Crew cardigan.
- Jack Wills Sweater: My go-to store for everything English prep, Jack Wills, have got their quintessential cable knit jumpers in again this A/W. There’s something so simple and chic about a cream cable knit with a pair of jeans in the Autumn.
- TopShop Tweet Jacket: From English prep to Parisian chic, I love this tweed Chanel-
esque jacket from TopShop. You could wear it casually or to add a little ooh-la-la to an LBD. - Maison Martin cardigan: A definite investment piece, this simple button-down cardigan will see you through A/W for years to come. And can also come in handy during cold Summer nights.
