Red Carpet Fashion Round Up | People’s Choice Awards 2014

Time to kick off the 2014 award show season with the 2014 People’s Choice Awards! Held in the Los Angeles Nokia Theatre, this was the event was extra special as it celebrated its 40th anniversary! Here’s some of the most memorable looks of the evening…
PCA14-Kat-Dennings-Beth-Behrs
The ‘Ying & Yang Duo’ Award | Kat Dennings & Beth Behrs
The ladies of the evening and hosts for the event, Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, were definitely two of my favourites to walk the red carpet in very opposites attract ensembles. Kat Dennings went for a dark David Meister Signature gown with romantic rose prints. In keeping with the gothic romantic theme she accessorised with a bejewelled headband and her signature red lips. Beth Behrs went for a more minimalist column Guilietta gown, with monochrome accessories. I love the black accent on the gown, which is a nice contrast to the stark white on the rest of the dress.
PCA14-Alison-Williams
The ‘Is That Emma Watson’ Award | Alison Williams
Very much kitted out like Emma Watson’s doppelganger, I had to do a double take with Alison’s look. In an electric blue and white David Koma dress, Alison’s whole look was very much reminiscent of Emma’s usual sport lux style she adopts for events like this, right down to the simple side swept ponytail. I don’t mind though! If there’s anyone to take style inspiration from Emma’s a fabulous candidate!
PCA14-Lucy-Hale
The ‘Love The Dress, Hate The Shoes’ Award | Lucy Hale
Lucy Hale, added a little colour to the event with a pink and black asymmetric Gabriela Cadena mini. I love the print on the dress and her beauty look is certainly on point, I just really wished she was a little more creative with her footwear. Sure her black pumps are cute, but a hot pink pair of strappy sandals would’ve really made the dress stand out even more!
PCA14-Adelaide-Kane
Best Accessories Award | Adelaide Kane
I don’t think I’ve seen Adelaide Kane on the red carpet before? Nevertheless she made an impression on me this time in a very pretty Rhea Costa dress, with lace cut outs. Though the dress does stand impressively on its own, it’s her choice of turquoise green clutch that turned my head. It’s a little unexpected but I think it’s a lovely little accompaniment to the look.
PCA14-Nina-Dobrev
Sparkling Diamond Award | Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev is always a favourite of mine to look for on the red carpet, and the PCA’s were no exception. She went for a little edgy glamour in a Jenny Packham dress, with a messy plait updo. The dress itself is stunning with an entire side encrusted with sparkling embellishments, which are perfectly accessorised with glittering silver sandals.
PCA14-Sara-Barielles
The ‘Sweet As Apple Pie’ Award | Sara Barielles
Sara went for a very preppy look for the PCA’s. She looked absolutely adorable in a Jill Stuart collared dress. with Moschino pumps. The whole look was topped off with a cute but subtle black bow in her hair.
PCA14-Anna-Faris
The ‘Thinking Outside Of The Box’ Award | Anna Faris
Amongst the gowns and dresses stood a fabulous looking Anna Faris. Shunning the red carpet trends, Anna dared to be different in a glittering nude Naeem Khan pantsuit. With her hair in a ponytail, she let her look do the talking!
PCA14-Britney-Spears

The ‘Welcome Back To The Fashion Pack’ Award | Britney Spears
It’s been an on and off ride in terms of red carpet fashion for Britney, but she seems to have gotten back on the satorial track for the PCA’s. In a nude illusion Mikael D mini, Britney let the dress do the talking with matching nude heels and minimal jewellery, she’s also thankfully pulled her hair into a messy semi-updo so we can see the gorgeous appliqué detailing around the shoulders of the dress. Vegas must be having a good effect on her, this is the best she’s looked in ages!
PCA14-Sandra-Bullock-Heidi-Klum
Still On The Fence Award | Sandra Bullock & Heidi Klum
Two looks I’m not sure about. Sandra Bullock stepped out on the red carpet in this graphic Peter Pilotto dress and Kurt Gieger pointed pumps. I can’t quite decide whether there’s to much going on with the outfit? Maybe a solid colour for the pumps would’ve tied it all together a bit better? And Heidi Klum is always an odd one for me. There’s now doubt the Project Runway host has the confidence to pull of anything, but I can make up my mind on her Georgio Armani gown. The embellishments look a bit all over the place and her plaited up-do, feels a bit OTT for an event like the PCA’s.
PCA14-Jessica-Alba-Jennifer-Hudson The Simple But Stunning Award | Jessica Alba & Jennifer Hudson
Both ladies chose simple, bright and white dresses, with minimal accessories. Whilst Jessica went for an all sleek hair and make-up look in a strapless Jason Wu dress, Jennifer channeled a little rock chic with a spiked cropped hairdo and body-con Kaufmanfranco dress. Amongst the cold winter weather we’re having at the moment these looks are wonderfully refreshing.
PCA14-Naya-RiveraThe ‘Holy Smokes’ Award | Naya Rivera
First thought that popped into my head after seeing Naya? Woah, hair! Debuting new caramel coloured locks Naya once again rocked the red carpet in coloured blocked Michael Kors gown. She has a new Kardashian-esque glow about her and I love this simple yet sexy ensemble on her.
PCA14-Allison-Janney-Ming-Na-WenThe Beauty Had No Age Limit Award | Alison Janey & Ming Na Wen
With young Hollywood usually grabbing the headlines, we sometimes forget there’s actresses like Allison Janney and Ming-Na Wen who come out with looks just as awesome as their younger counterparts! Allison went for a simple LBD, accompanied with classic jewels. Ming-Na was a far cry from her usual stone-cold Agent of S.H.E.I.L.D character, and went for a more romantic look in a ruffled pink mini, with beachy waves.

What did you think about all of the looks? Did you have any favourites?

*ps. how are y’all liking the new fashion round up format? Likey? Let me know!
