  • This Week…

What I wore: Maxi skirt, Grey dress (worn as a top), Necklace, Sandals [All from New Look]

Follow me on Instagram @rcagz for my photo diary

Sometimes I forget just how much of wardrobe is stocked with New Look clothes. If any of you haven’t guessed by now, I work there part time and it’s become so easy over the past three years to shun away from other highstreet/online stores in favour of using my staff discount to get bits on the cheap [as seen with my mini jewellery haul last Friday]. I am branching out a little though and nabbed the gorgeous kimono cover up in the River Island sale, whilst shipping was free, and cannot wait to wear it out!

I’ve definitely had one of those insular kind of weeks, spending a lot of time at home (mainly helping out my poorly mum), sorting out my room/life and becoming hopelessly addicted to Avatar:The Last Airbender and the Lizzie Bennett Diaries on YouTube.
I did spend today prepping for a little dance demo me and some of my Filipino friends/sister’s friend are doing for our local Cultural Mela Festival. I won’t be full on dancing myself [I seem to have lost that ability since leaving the musical theatre world], but am happy to help out. My family’s lot of Paralympic tickets also arrived this week! Cannot wait to blog about it in August, should be an amazing 2 days!
Also! How are you all liking the refreshed layout? I’m thinking of tinkering around with it a big this week and would love to hear a bit of feedback :)

    Keep on wishing…

  • Wishlist Item[s]…

    [From top to bottom: 1, 2, 3]
    All from New Look
    [All photos via Pinterest]

I’ll admit in the past year, but love for pretty, girl-y dresses has increased ten-fold. But I usually try to embrace my femininity quite subtly and attempt to steer away from looking like too ’10 year old at a Princess party’. However, after spying two of these dresses at work yesterday I’ll admit these dresses have got me counting down the days till payday. All three are just so lovely and ladylike, and if Blake Lively and Taylor Swift can embrace the Barbie pink, so can I! Plus if all of this sugary, pretty-ness (that’s a word I swear…) is a little nauseating, there’s nothing stopping me from pairing them with tough ankle boots and leather jacket.

  • Review: ‘Aloe Eye Defence’ The Body Shop

[Aloe Eye Defence, £9.50, The Body Shop]
So this is my first beauty review. Yay!
I’m quite simple when it comes to my skin routine but I recently started investing into some products from The Body Shop after getting my ‘Love your body’ card.
I have mildly sensitive skin and during the Summer [and sometimes during especially cold Winter months] experience very dry and tight skin around my eyes. Before I found this I mainly used Vaseline lightly around the eye area before bed but found it too heavy for general use.
I’ve used Aloe skin creams before so I decided to try out this one after reading some good reviews online. I’ve now been using it for about a week, both in the morning and before I go to bed, using a small amount under my eye and over the lid.
I am feeling some difference already, my upper eyelids and under eye areas feel less tight and more moisturised. The corner of my eye, where I experience the most dry-ness and irritation, is slowly soothing out but I think I’ll need more regular usage for it to reach the standard of the rest of the area. The cream itself is light, actually feels quite refreshing once it’s on and absorbs quickly.
The main advantage is no irritation, something that was very important when considering the area I would be using it on. The bottle is only 15ml for £9.50 [I also got some money off with my ‘Love your body’ card], but when you consider the tiny amount you’ll need to use around the eye area I would say that it is worth buying.

    Keep on wishing…
