    Gird your loins fashion aficionados cause January award season in now in full swing and it’s high time for a little change of format going forward.

    The Golden Globe Awards were held just over a week ago in Los Angeles and amongst the highs and lows of the ceremony itself came some serious fashion moments. The ladies of Hollywood certainly brought their a-game on the night! Here are my five fashion moments…

    If there’s one woman who ferociously stole the show for me was the phenomenal Taraji P Henson. The Empire actress picked up the Best Actress in a Drama Series, for her role as Cookie Lyons, whilst hilariously fighting back valiantly against the ‘wrap up’ music. She looked heavenly in an ivory white Stella McCartney caped gown accompanied by beautiful, simple jewelry by Kimberly McDonald. The look was fresh, clean and oozed power (much like Taraji herself).

    I’m gonna pretend you clicked on this post for the title and recently decided convert to the cruelty free beauty world*. First of all, welcome!

    I made the switch to using exclusively cruelty free products last year and can understand that it can be the most intimidating thing to start especially after years of lusting after Mac or YSL lipsticks. Never fear! Here a my top 5 resources that I personally used when I was starting out (and that I still use now!) that have been super helpful in changing my own habits.

  • Why it’s ok to be a flawed feminist

    Hello my name is Ria and I am a flawed feminist.

    I have slut shamed Miley Cyrus more times than I can count. I sometimes forget the plight of women of colour isn’t just about Black or South East Asian women. Taylor Swift is still my home-girl despite her problematic white-girl feminist attitude. I don’t often speak up when I see idiots on public transport leer at schoolgirls. I sometimes end up speaking over trans-voices rather than letting them do the talking. I am guilty of jumping on feminist bandwagons because there is safety in numbers rather than calling out behaviour on my own. Sometimes I’m too scared to post about feminism on social media in case I get attacked or questioned by others.
