In the words of Ms. Sylvia Plath “There must be quite a few things a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.” As the nights draw ever darker and the winter cold on British shores, surely there’s no better way to relax after a tough week at work than a cosy bubble bath.
I don’t know why I’ve suddenly developed this love for Lush recently but I’m gunning for a bath bomb shopping spree at some point before Christmas. I spotted the ‘You’ve Been Mangoed’ and ‘Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment’ bath melts in store a few weeks ago and they both look heavenly, the ‘You’ve been Mangoed’ also smells like Summer in a bath melt. Am so also keen to try out Northern Lights at some point after spying some videos of people testing it out, the colours looks amazing when you drop it in!
Also just for the fun of it I’ve popped in some of the bubble bars and bath bombs I’ve been eyeing up including some of the Lush Christmas themed bits and blogger favourites like their ‘Comforter‘ Bubble Bar.
C’mon guys you must have seen this coming right? ;)
Hot off the back of her smash-hit comeback Shake It Off and the release of her album 1989, Taylor Swift has only gone and done it again with another fantastic and satirical music video for Blank Space. This time round Taylor’s turning the tables on the critics who call her the ‘crazy ex-girlfriend’. It’s a role she plays with much pleasure, super silliness, and completely draped in Couture.
I honestly lost count of outfits halfway through the video, so I’ve picked out some of my favourites, including a stunning black lace Elie Saab gown (which she opens the video with); the tulle Oscar De La Renta tea dress, with embroidered silver bows; and striped body suit and flared skirt combo by Stephanie Waldrip with some seriously amazing retro-inspired sunglasses.
On top of the costume changes, Taylor’s hair and make-up game is oh so strong. She sports everything from messy locks, to sleek up-dos and polished curls, all of which is topped off with her signature bold red lip – oh course!
With all these fabulous looks in the space of about 3 minutes, it’s no wonder Blank Space has replaced 22 as my favourite video simply based on Taylor’s wardrobe.
Well, this is a first for Wishing For Chanel! Though I love trying out new products, beauty buys are always an investment for me to try because I really want to use it. So, the hit or miss factor of beauty boxes can be a little daunting to me, despite being sorely tempting just to have the everything in them.
When I saw reviews for My Little Box creeping around the blogsphere, I started to change my mind and eventually signed up. Yes, it’s a beauty subscription box and you do get some great products in there, but they also include a lifestyle/fashion accessories, a curated magazine and a pretty print.
I was lucky enough to just about snag their October box for myself, so here’s a little peak inside…

First up the beauty bits. Each month the box will include one of their own products from their beauty range, My Little Beauty. October’s box includes a pretty little bottle of micellar water, which I’ve already tested out and have found it to work just as well as my Garnier micellar water and also has a lovely scent of aloe vera to it too – it’s also perfectly timed, as I’m starting to run out of my Garnier bottle. Also inside is a handy travel sized can of Kerastase hairspray (in ‘laque noir’) and a decent sample sized tube of L’Occitane hand cream with a gorgeous smelling ‘vanilla’ scent.
With the box curated by Diane Von Furstenberg, the first little fashion accessory inside is a cute little ‘kiss from Diane’ brooch.
And, of course, the accessory everyone seems to be talking about is the DVF scarf. There are three different designs circling around but I managed to get the lovely bold red, pink and purple leopard print one – which matches the little illustration print that also comes inside the box. Speaking of the illustration, I love the quote on this one. It’s displayed very proudly on my wardrobe door now :)
What do you guys think of the October ‘My Little Box’?
