After a final two weeks and goodbyes last Friday, I finally bid sad farewell to Marketing Internship. For those who weren’t aware, as part of my University course I had to do a year in a professional work placement and started working as a Marketing Support Assistant last August. I want to do a proper post on my experiences but in short, it was both challenging and extremely rewarding, not to mention the team I worked with for the year were incredible. All wonderful people who I’ll miss so very much but am making sure I keep in touch with – I don’t think they’d let me get away with not keeping in touch to be honest ;)
Now I’m out of working 6 days a week – I kept my Saturday retail job for the year too – my brain is now back into student blogger mode again. I slipped in a VMAs round up to ease myself back into the routine again, but it’ll be good to actually get onto pushing myself this year with regularly blogging again. That being said, I of course need to keep my head down with Uni. I’ll be starting my third and final year in a few weeks so it’s all systems go at the moment! How excitingly scary =S

    I’m back!
So if you’ve been keeping up with me on Twitter you know I’ve had a weird couple of weeks. First of all I need to thank my four lovely guest bloggers for churning out content much better than what I usually put out :P
Erin kicked off the run with a beautiful DIY Paper Heart Garland, the lovely Laura showcased her pretty summer nail art in her post, little miss globetrotter Anajali shared some great travel tips, and finally one of my favourite bloggers Becky post an awesome post on why she loves Harry Potter.
Speaking of Harry Potter you may have noticed I was LeakyCon a week ago with my best friend Kath (no Ria were you really? shocking! What?!…) My two round up posts are now up and you can read part 1 and part 2. I did take the Monday after I came back off from work but I still feel exhausted and my brain still hasn’t adjusted to real life yet. Case in point. I spent most of the time watching Order of the Phoenix when is was on TV yesterday shouting ‘I met her’ to the TV every time Evanna Lynch aka Luna Lovegood on screen. I’ve also had Hank Green’s ‘Accio Deathly Hallows‘, Lauren Fairweather’s ‘Home‘ and Alex Carpenter’s ‘Bow Ties Are Cool‘ on rotation in my head. LeakyCon felt like a bizzaro alternative universe where it was ok to burst into a rendition of ‘Get Back To Hogwarts’, people understood me when I told them DFTBA and Wizard Rockers were greeted with a reaction similar to that of headline acts at Glastonbury.
But back to the real world and the realities that I’m finishing my work placement in two weeks (WHAT), start Uni in almost a month and no one cares about my LeakyCon stories anymore (I think I talked my sister’s ear off about it already).
That being said apart from LeakyCon a lot of things have happened that I’ve yet to properly share and I’m hopefully going to be able to do that in the next few weeks.

  • Nail art dots | Guest Post by Laura

Hello Wishing For Chanel readers, I’m Laura and I’m so pleased to be guest posting for Ria this week! I quit my blog last year but get that blogging bite every now and then so this is perfect to tame that craving for a while.

I decided to do a nail art post as now it’s the summer holidays I get to paint my nails and have time to change the designs every day if I want to (I don’t but that’s beside the point). So I thought I’d share with you a nice easy designs which didn’t take very long and actually lasted for a whole week before it started chipping. (That included a week of spring summer cleaning my entire flat!)

    Barry M – Torquoise 295
Models own – nail art pen – white
Sally Hansen – Hard as nails (used a top and base coat)

I adore this Barry M polish, I only got it last week because Superdrug were doing a 3 for 2 offer so how could I resist? The colour is really summer and even though I’ve just taken this design off I’m tempted to repaint them the same colour again.

I hope you liked this post, you can find my over at Blogger bookshelf as a regular reviewer or on twitter if you want to read more of my ramblings.

Thanks again Ria for asking me to guest post!

    Laura
