    anthropologie dress Quinn

    Jacquard Circle-Skirt Dress

    £118.00 from Anthropologie

The combination of knowing a certain Ms Agron will be *spoiler* once again gracing halls of Mckinley High as Quinn on Glee this season and my new favourite TK Maxx dress I wore to work the other day has definitely inspired this Wishlist Item.
I’ve professed my love for Anthropologie many a time both on here and on twitter. My love of the brand only grew after visiting the store on a trip to London a few months ago, it’s also on of the choice brand to dress the notorious stylish Quinn Fabray during Season 3 of Glee, and this love has only grown and grown.
So naturally I go browsing the website recently and I want to buy all the things! This particular dress caught my eye with its almost houndslooth print and ‘fit and flare’ style. I can see this working into an office wardrobe or dressed down for Autumn with boots/brogues and chunky cardigan. Either way I’m slightly dying at the hefty price tag…maybe I can find the look for less elsewhere.

  • 4 Women | 4 Decades | W Magazine’s 40 years of style

    Rooney-Mia W Magazine Scarlett-Kiera W Magazine

Sometimes procrastinating on Tumblr can be a good thing!

I recently found this amazing shoot from ‘W’ magazine on my dashboard and literally stopped in my tracks. The publication is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a cover story encompassing the distinct styles of the past 4 decades, with 4 of the best actresses of the 21st Century – in my opinion anyway.
The 1970’s is embodied by Rooney Mara who is almost unrecognisable from her usual minimalist style for bold printed Prada, that ‘oh-so-in’ wide brim hat and Autumnal colours.
Mia Wasikowska takes on the boldest of the 4 decades – and my personal favourite – the 1980’s in a Balenciaga bustier and bright neon make up.
In Dolce & Gabbana is the ever alluring Scarlett Johanssen, taking on the edgier grunge trend of the 1990’s.
And finally a very chic, Tilda Swinton-esque take on the Noughties (I hate that word…) with Keira Knightley in forever classic Chanel
Despite the striking differences in between the decades themselves, I love the overall theme of the spread and the other worldly green tint that ties the whole thing together. You can read more and see all of these images in glorious HQ here. I’ve also linked to each actress’ mini interview, just click on their names.

Another Autumnal week in October. The weather is no sufficiently cold enough to legitimately wear coats and boots wahey! Apologies for the single post this week, I’ve been feeling so tired recently, definitely in one of those ‘need a kick up the bum’ moods at the moment!
Taking a break from the office I got to head up to London for the afternoon for meeting. After it finished I mulled around the city for a bit with no real destination before I had to get my train. It’s seriously my favourite thing to do in London. With a tube pass in hand you can really just get off at any stop and find yourself somewhere interesting – although I did make sure I was back at Waterloo station before dark! One thing I made sure I did was scope out the LeakyCon London venue, the Grand Connaught Ballrooms. It’s amazing and impressive and that’s just the outside. Also excited to know there were a few fashion week shows held there this year, namely Temperley’s show. After I geeked out on my lonesome I got the tube to Embankment and just strolled over the bridge to the station. I love the London skyline and always feel a little sad walking away from it. Maybe one day I’ll get to see it everyday on my way to work.
Something extremely exciting and lovely is the birth of Erin and I’s book blog project! We’ve been in super organisation mode the past few weeks to set it up and it’s finally here! It’s in it’s baby stages at the moment in terms of content and design but will definitely evolve in the next few months. We’ve got an amazing team of contributors who are raring and ready to start posting soon. So keep an eye out for exciting things from bloggersbookshelf.blogspot.co.uk :)
