A little bit of beautiful on a bleak Monday. I spied this gorgeous shoot on Fashion Gone Rogue of Phuong My‘s Fall/Winter collection, featuring the striking Korean model Kwak Ji Young, and completely fell in love with the whole shoot. The rich colour tones of the collection provide the perfect contrast to the darker backdrop. Also can I have that deep lilac coat please?

top photo l-r: red jumper, Zara | green jumper, Topshop | blue jumper, New Look
As the cold weather sweeps in I’m finding myself back into the comfort zone combo of a thick pair of leggings, ankle boots and a comfy jumper. The navy blue jumper is one from New Look last year and I pretty much lived it in at home. The red one is a fairly thin Zara knit I picked up in the sale a few months ago, it’s just thick enough to keep me warm at the moment and even though it’s a large it’s looks really nice as an oversized top. The green sweater is the newest addition to my wardrobe and was a complete impulse buy from the Topshop sale! Again it’s a much larger size than I’d usually get but like the Zara one but I’ll be wearing it with bits and pieces layered underneath once Winter properly starts.

  • Review | Barry M Matte Nail Paint

Barry M Matte Nail Paint (#Crush), £3.99, from Boots
I’ve finally gotten round to trying out this part of the Barry M range after ages um-ing and ah-ing about it. I’ve been really into Autumnal shades lately so picked up ‘Crush’. From the bottle it’s a darker blood red, more subtle than your usual red polish, but actually finishes in more of burgundy colour once it dries into the matte.
I used two coats but it’s fairly easy to get decent coverage with one generous coat. Though the matte effect does help you see when the polish has actually dried, I would advise waiting a little longer for the polish to set, as the formula’s quite thick imperfections and smudges are harder to correct. For £3.99 it’s your standard Barry M quality though, which is never too bad for the price!
