  • To Be Read | #1

    TBR #1
The 5th Wave, Rick Yancey | Billy & Me, Giovanna Fletcher | The Big Over Easy, Jasper Fforde | Catch 22, Joseph Heller | Anasi Boys, Neil Gaiman

A few select books from my ‘To Be Read’ pile that seems to have taken over my bedside table, with the exception of Billy & Me – blitzed through that one in days! Am excited to get read some Gaiman, despite being a fan of him as a person, I don’t think I’ve read one of his novels before. This pile is also pretty tame compared to the one on my Kindle =| I think have about 25/30 books on that to-read list.

  • Two Sides | Moschino Cheap & Chic Resort 2014

    Moschino-Cheap-and-Chic-prep
Am a little late to the party when it comes to flailing over this one but boy is it a good ‘un. Moschino’s Cheap & Cheap Resort collection hit the catwalks back at the end of May in New York, and this, coupled with the wonderful Summer sunshine is a welcome burst of colourful inspiration.
Full of candy shades and light, bright pieces, Moschino seems to have captured two distinctive Summer styles.
The one above is Blair Waldorf circa Season 1 of Gossip Girl – think 60’s inspired cuts, girl-y skirts and pretty twinsets and cardigans – with the looks providing great inspiration for the office, Summer weddings or weekend breaks in country estates.
On the flipside, the looks below scream Williamsburg/So-cal hipster. Coachella may be far in the distance now, but the looks wouldn’t be out of place at British gatherings such as such as Bestival or Latitude – I can also totally see the like of Alexa Chung and Florence Welch rocking the first and fourth looks.

I’m leaning towards the first set, simply for practicality – no festivals for me this Summer *boo* – but the second lot look so comfy to chillax in!
Which side of Moschino’s collection are you favouring?

  • Two Weeks | #3

    Two Weeks #3
    Breakfast pot for lunch? – New bag! – Train provisions heading to Brighton Blogger’s Meet Up- Brighton Pier – heading home after a long day – Day #219 – Greens – Day #220 – Day #221 – Day #222 – Iron Man 3 = epic – Day #223 – Saturday morning – first Sunday run – OUAT catch up – Starting Mr Penumbra’s 24 Hour bookstore – Day #224 – grey – Day #225 – new books – A Chorus Line-ness on my commute – Day #226 – Day #227 – sunglasses/sunshine/hipster shot – new Summer sandals –

It’s felt both hectic and lazy the past two weeks. It kicked off with a trip to Brighton to meet up with some lovely bloggers for a gossip, mini picnic and a wander around the seafront, you can check out my Brighton round up here and Michelle from Daisybutter has also done a little post too. I always forget how much I love Brighton until I’m walking along the pier and definitely need to head back there in the Summer, have yet to properly explore the lanes and I’m itching to go back to Tiger again.
I also ran for the first time in what has been forever, I know shock/horror. Running and exercise was one of the many topics covered during the Brighton trip, and inspired by fellow runners that I met, I’ve committed myself to running at least one day a week for now. I’ve been saying for too long that I need a kick to exercise since starting placement and want to get back into some form decent shape by the time I head back to Uni in September/October. I even downloaded running apps for my phone! So yes, one day a week, 20-30 mins minimum…it’s baby steps but feel free to chastise me on Twitter or in blog comments if you see me slacking!
As detailed in my most recent ‘A Little Inspiration‘ post, I’ve been feeling a little flight-risk and fancy free – primarily blaming Maureen Johnson and 13 Little Blue Envelopes for this. In preparation for what I’m now calling ‘Ria’s hypothetical NYC graduation trip‘ I’m perusing deals and gap year websites, making note of costs. And thanks to Hayley’s post on her blog about her solo IOW trip, I’m actually thinking of going it alone! Madness right? But we’ll see. I’m also up for Interailing around Europe (Italy, Germany and the Netherlands in particular) and heading to Japan at some point, but those will be on the bucket list for now I think!
Apart from all this it’s been a lot of blog and TV catch up (RIP Smash, wah!), typical me ^_^
