‘It’s the most wonderful tiiimmmeee of the year!’

It’s December, we’re less than a month away from Christmas, and the festive spirit has hit me full on in the face! Now I’d like to think you guys are super organised and already have your decorations up, but just in case you’re after a few more ideas and/or are scrambling to find some bits and pieces to put up. When it comes to Christmas decor inspiration I’m filling my wish list with items from two ends of the festive spectrum.

On one hand is the super sleek, scandi-inspired minimal Christmas look, which is much more about clean lines than overloading your home with trinkets. Think delicate lights, barely there Winter trees, ornaments with natural wood finishes, and a colour palette of greys, whites, metallics and rose golds.

It’s a great theme to stick to if you’re looking for money saving options as it places focus on styling than the ornaments themselves.

As great as the minimal them is, there’s something about sticking with a truly traditional format that just reminds me of home. With this theme you’ll want to take a the opposite approach to the minimalist style and go for luxurious details in warm and cosy reds and golds. This theme would, of course, be nothing without beautiful evergreen wreaths and trees dripping with baubles, bows and winter berries.

Which theme will you be sticking with this year?

Have you sorted your decor for the Holiday season yet?

*Penultimate Insta-round up of the year freak out*…oh November how do I even go about explaining you to my lovely blog readers?

I spoke about veering away from diary-esque entries in last month’s round up and how you guys probably don’t want to hear about my life IRL…well, I did revel a bit of a biggie secret about a week ago. If you didn’t catch the post, I’m moving away from home to Oxford in the New Year for a new job and a bit of life refresh.

I mostly talked about the positive new start and opportunities this move could bring me, but I didn’t quite mention that fact that I’m leaving my team here at work – again *sad face*! I have two weeks left to finish stuff up before Christmas – as if I wasn’t busy enough! – and say my goodbyes before what should be a relatively lovely Christmas with friends and family. But before all that I’m currently running around like a headless chicken in Oxford and – virtually – online, attempting to find a place to live before I start work in January. Seriously, no one warned me that house hunting was this difficult on top of a full-time job…le sigh

Aside from that it’s all systems go here at WFC, as I’m prepping, planning and scheduling blog posts for you lovely people whilst I sort my life out. Christmas is just around the corner too and, as this will be my first NOT working in retail for the festive period *hallelujah* I’m really exciting to get down to the markets and enjoy this time of year as much as I can before I uproot my life in January!

  • My Little Box Unboxing | November

    02.My-Little-Box-November-Box

Feels like only yesterday that I received my October box for My Little Box, before November’s My Little Cosy Box was dropped off on my doorstep this weekend!

As the tittle suggests this month’s My Little Box is themed around cosying up and staying in and I have to admit, this is my favourite theme that I’ve seen so far!

    02.My-Little-Box-November-Products

First up the beauty products. In this month’s box, from the My Little Beauty range comes a nifty little mascara with beeswax, jojoba and sesame oil apparently. I was really impressed with last month’s micellar water so am keen to see how I get on with their mascara. The two other beauty products were a Yves Rocher Intense Colour eyeshadow (in coffee brown – you’ll find it amusing how appropriate this was later on!) and a black waterproof eyeliner by Arcancil. I always think you can never have too many neutral coloured eyeshadows/liners – especially as I have a habit loosing mine most of the time!

The lifestyle products in this month’s box were definitely the highlights! Following the cosy theme, inside the box was an adorable little mini espresso coffee cup and a Tsumori Chisato polka dot cushion, which you can heat up in the microwave . You can bet I’ll be using both avidly over the winter months. I also, once again, adore the print from this month’s box – isn’t the quote perfect?

So once again, another impressive offering from My Little Box!

Let me know what you guy’s thought of this month’s ‘cosy’ theme.
