I always start these monthly Insta-snaps saying the month has been odd or weird for me, so I guys if I’m summing up October I’d say IRL busy. It’s been a long time since I’ve done proper detailed diary-esque entries about everything going on in my life and, if I’m honest, I never feel a real reason to do that kind of thing so much anymore. A lot of the time it’s because I can’t really talk about that kind of stuff publically, most of the time it’s because you guys don’t want to hear me moan about stress or work or how tired I am. Blogging’s always been my respite for that, so I’m glad to have this little corner of the Internet try to be positive.

As well as busy, October’s been seriously reflective for me for many reasons – again in my personal IRL stuff – but also just in terms of getting my head screwed on straight again…not gonna lie Taylor Swift could not have timed 1989 more perfectly with everything happening at the moment. A good catch up with the lovely Erin – as it always does – has also given me a decent kick up the backside to keep on at this blog thing.

Also, proud parent moment, Blogger’s Bookshelf turned TWO last Sunday (we’re running a giveaway to celebrate at the moment if you want to enter!). I’m not gonna lie I felt a great swell of pride putting together our infographic for this year – those numbers blow my mind sometimes!

Anywho, toodles for now. See you on the other side of November (crikey, almost end of the year!)

Putting Book & Kitchen on my ‘To Visit’ list for the next time to head to London thanks to Stacey’s post.

My lovely friend Michelle wrote a post about Taylor Swift’s Fearless which everyone needs to read now…it made me cry happy tears :’) also A+ gif usage!

Midge’s post about Halloween in Hoboken makes me wanna hop on a plane back to NYC all over again!

Troye Sivan’s latest video on ‘Becoming You‘. Definitely worth a watch and something to reflect on.

It’s been an old ol’ month. My first not going back to school/college/Uni EVER, which hit me the other day…so I cheered myself up with new beauty bits (typical Ria!). Apart from a short break in beautiful North Wales and managing not to fall into a river during my first rib ride on the Menai Strait, I’ve been very much a homebody this month. I’ve been slightly grateful for this as work has been super hectic and I’m already looking towards planning the next few months here on WFC, Blogger’s Bookshelf and finally getting on the bandwagon with Feminist In Training too. Blogging with a full-time job is more difficult than I remember from placement!

Rebecca shares some old, forgotten but utterly wanderlust-worthy photos from her archives.

Amy showcases her beautiful garden and some wonderful little flower pressings.

My friend Lauren (aka Belle Du Brighton) is pregnant again and oh my God I’m so exciting for baby no #2! Plus check out how adorable Athena is in the announcement post.

Rosie’s kinda sorta Autumnal post and shares some really beautiful photos too.

Milky way snickerdoodles recipe from Helen’s blog. Need I say more.

My oh my it’s been quite the month! Since settling down into a routine IRL, I decided to make quite a big decision, throwing caution to the wind and to give blog my it a refresh and switch to WordPress. You can read more about my reasoning behind why I did it here. It’s now been about 3 weeks since I switched and apart from one teeny glitch the other day – where my blog suddenly went walkies on me midnight but was kindly restored with the help of my hosting company by 11am the next day – I’ve had next to no problems since. I want to write about my experiences switching platforms soon, but for now I’m rest assured that I’m feel so much happier with the blog right now :)

In the real world I also hit the refresh button on my brain and soul, and whisked myself away with the family for a Bank Holiday excursion to the Isle of Wight. I wanted to cut myself off a little bit from stress and constant media updates, so I left my laptop at home and stuffed my phone in my bag for the majority of the trip, and it felt glorious. As a blogger I often don’t realise how plugged in I’ve become and with as my new job partly requires me to be tuned into online media, I rarely get a break to just ignore the rest of the world for a bit. Not to mention it was just really lovely to spend some time with my parents and little sister, with only the oh so pretty views of the Isle of Wight to accompany us.

So now, back into reality and now it’s September first, I’m looking forward to what is shaping up to be an oh so hectic couple of months. But what’s new eh?

Becky went to Florida 1. to get married! wahey! and 2. visited lots of exciting places that I’m very jealous of (her post on the new Diagon Alley expansion is amazing!)

Sarah’s post about how she acquired this beautiful bracelet. I urge you to read the story behind it too, it’s rather touching and kinda beautiful :)

This wonderfully honest post from Katie, in light of the passing of Robin Williams, about mental illness.

Definitely want to give this DIY Instax Collection a go! Read the post on Vanilla Craft blog.

Very much in love with Jen’s post on getting a tattoo at 28 and it’s such a pretty design too.

Just look at the ceiling and decor at this Hoboken bar in Midge’s photo diary!
