  • Favourite Underrated Female Youtubers

    favourite-female-youtubers

Youtube is DEAD! Or so the critics say. If I’m being honest, I’m bored of conversations that proclaim lack of creativity and original content on Youtube in favour of sponsored videos, ‘hilarious’ challenges and vlogs. Yes, the generic content rises to the top but that shouldn’t stop us from looking a little harder at where the good stuff actually is.

From where I’m standing Youtube is positively thriving. And what is super encouraging is that I’m finding that some of the best content on the platform is coming straight from female content creators.

I’ve never been a fan of the world ‘small’, I feel like it diminishes the accomplishments of the Youtubers themselves, many of whom have been vlogging for just as long as their so-called ‘famous’ counterparts. So rather than focus on subscriber count here are some of my favourite underrated female Youtubers who are kicking some serious butt right now.

  • Kaleidoscope of Loud | New York 2K16

C’mon you really didn’t think I wasn’t going to abuse the crap outta this song before I leave for the Big Apple this week right?

As you all well know – cause I never shut up about this kind of thing – I’m heading back to my favourite city in the world (again!) tomorrow. My bags are packed, I have my ‘dollas’ (holla!) and have finally sorted out a jam packed schedule to boot. My parent’s have been braced for some serious fangirling and general geekery (we are literally staying a few blocks away from Broadway *screams*) and little MCagz is practically pooping herself with excitement for her first trip to the big city (It’s been waiting for you bae). And whilst I’m gallivanting about sans an actual laptop, I’ve scheduled in a post or two in my absence in cause you get sick of me talking about Chelsea Market lobster rolls and how great Lin-Manuel Miranda is.

But…if you are partial to a little wanderlust I’ll be tweeting away (@RCagz) and snapping some pics on Instagram when I get a hold of some decent wi-fi!

    It’s a new soundtrack
I could dance to this beat
    The lights are so bright
    But they never blind me…

See you on the other side*

  • Wish List | The ‘Get Sh*t Done’ Stationary Edition

So this year’s word goal is hard. Some things I didn’t factor into this goal malarkey was 1. I’d be living in house with 5 other wonderful ladies and though I do love them very dearly (we’ve already been through it in just a few short months) they are fantastic at distracting me with gossip and terrible TV sessions. 2. Busy, busy, busy full time job – go figure and 3. apparently my social life taking an upturn (I don’t even recognise myself anymore guys).

As I mentioned in February’s round up, I’m in serious need of a kick up the butt when it comes to organisation, so what better way to do that then invest in some seriously adorable stationary to accompany my productivity at my desk – because apparently I like to kid myself that I’m being productive by looking at stationary websites.

Write Your Tomorrow stationary kit, Kikki-K // ‘I did my best’ pencil case, Paperchase // Aluminium pen pot, Muji // Dirty Dancing quote pencils, Dottie Rocks // ‘Thumbs Up’ sticky note set, Bando // Salmon storage boxes, Paperchase // To Do/To Get Notepad, Nightingale Projects // Escape the ordinary journal, Kate Spade // Cat post-it notes, Kikki-K // Printed notebooks, Oliver Bonas // Numbered paperclips, Tom Dixon

Paperchase and Muji are, as always, killing the game when it comes to their collections, but I’ve also been eyeing up Oliver Bonas and the stationary section of Selfridges too. In terms of aesthetics after a run of getting really into more mimimalist design, I’ve been eyeing up anything in pretty pink pastel shades which give off that dreamy Wes Anderson/Sofia Coppola vibe to my organisation.

Let me know if you have any stationary recs too! I’m always up for finding cool new shops to direct my lust at.
