    Diamonds are a girls best friend…but glorious gold gets everyone’s attention!

    I feel like gold got a bad rep a few years ago, thanks to those ever classy hoop-de-hoop earrings and chains sported by Vicky Pollard-esque wannabes. But it’s made a comeback and I’ve got to say I’m glad. Though my own gold tinted collection would most likely fetch a big fat zero if I sent it off to one of those cash for gold schemes, I did have the sudden realisation the other day that I don’t actually own many other coloured metallics in my jewellery collection.
    So of course I’ve decided to scout some of my favourite shimmering pieces from across the web to lust over!

  • Halloween costumes for the fashion conscious

    It’s that time of year again! Halloween is just around the corner and with potentially two different weekends to celebrate there’s no excuse not to dress up. 

    But if you don’t feel like digging out that ratty witch’s hat or devil horns again, then have no fear! Here’s 5 unique Halloween costumes for the fashion savvy…

    Anna Wintour: Grab your big sunglasses and bob cut wig for this take on the Queen of Vogue herself. Just add a midi dress or skirt with a statement necklace and you’re set!

    Tavi Gevinson: We’re all fashion bloggers here so why not impersonate one of the best and kookiest? Go over sized and artistically mismatched with your best bitch face. Wig and geek glasses optional.

    Victoria Beckham: No longer just Posh Spice, perfect Ms Beckham’s famous pout for this costume. For authenticity an actual VB dress would be ideal, with a fake baby Harper attached to your side.

    Karl Lagerfeld: Probably the most comfortable costume on the list! Suit up and get your chic leather gloves to take on Uncle Karl’s signature look. Don’t forget to wig up and hide behind those Chanel sunglasses too!
    Fashion Halloween - AC
    Alex Chung: Not feeling particularly creative? Then dress down as British Fashion dah-ling, Alexa Chung, it’ll be even easier than Tavvi! You will most likely have the collared shirt, brogues, mini skirt/tailored shorts (all Topshop of course, Henry Holland if you’re being really fancy). Got a couple of quid spare? Then a Mulberry Alexa is obviously a must!

    And if you’re still stuck for ideas? Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Kurt Hummel from Glee, Nicki Minaj, anyone from the cast of Gossip Girl, Olivia Palermo, Lady Gaga and Kate Middleton

  • Wear the runway trend now…Deeper shades of blue at Matthew Williamson SS13

    Set against the dramatic backdrop of the London skyline, Matthew Williamson’s S/S13 presentation was always going to being quite the spectacle to behold. Amongst the gorgeous chiffon material and graphic prints a trend was emerging, clearly influenced by the skyline behind. Beautiful blues, all different shades and tones and materials were paraded down the catwalk by Williamson and with so much choice who would want to wait until next Spring to start incorporating it into their wardrobe?

    Above are a few choice pieces to get you started. Think sharp tailoring paired with float-y fabrics, mix different blue hues and don’t be afraid to use texture until those amazing prints filter down to the high street level next year.
