My, my I’ve been a busy bee. With the Bank Holiday and my mini break to London with the family I only really had two days at work!   Those who follow me on twitter know that I headed up to Thursday to watch the Paralympic Games.

Thursday’s morning session was spent high up in the Aquatics Centre watching some what’s swimmers, including Team GB’s Jon Fox (who broke his own world record time whilst we were there). The rest of the day was spent exploring the park. It wasn’t till later on did we realise we were stood outside of the Velodrome when Ms Kate Middleton was sat inside watching the action! So near yet so far :P A combination of a very early start and being on our feet for most of the day meant we all collapsed into bed once we got to the hotel.

Day 2 was just as exciting as we joined the crowds to fill up the Olympic Stadium. It actually looked a lot bigger on the TV, but at least this meant we could see more of the athletics better. The atmosphere was amazing! I want to do a much bigger post on my time in the park, I took some decent panoramic photos on my phone (I didn’t even realise I could do that!) that I want to share.    After the antics in the park we headed over to Westfield Stratford for some window and actual shopping. I got to browse through Forever 21 for the first time ever (shocking I know) and pretty much fell in love with everything in there. I’ll definitely need to plan a trip up there either before Christmas or during the January sales.

Our third day in London was spent shopping, again, this time in Portobello Market in Notting Hill. Again, I’ll do a much bigger post because I loved it there. The afternoon was then spend chilling out in Covent Garden and eating my weight in food.  The belated nature of this post is mainly due to how tired I was after travelling back home yesterday. I got home and just caught up on Internet bits – no decent wifi in my hotel! tragic stuff =P.

Something I’m very excited about what’s happening a year away is that I’ll be officially heading to LeakyCon in London! For those of you who don’t know, a basic description of LeakyCon is that it’s a fan convention dedicated primarily to Harry Potter, but has evolved to include things like The Hunger Games, Team Starkid, YouTube stars etc. Nerdy stuff I know but I’m so pumped to be going next year, there also a small possibility I may get to meet a couple of the Harry Potter actors there too ;)

Also have to thank my lovely friend Kath for signing us up for registration and tickets for the event, I do believe it was the most stressful thing in the world but so worth it.

Essay over and out =P  Look out for some little London posts this week!

Another week done and dusted, and I’m quite surprised with how much I’ve done. Aside from the usual placement bits, I’ve managed to organise my blog life a little and have got some decent posts coming up in the next few weeks.
Vintage Style arrived through my letter box this week, I’d been after it since I found a copy in Urban Outfitters at the beginning of the Summer. I’ve leafed through and read a lot of it already so can’t wait to review it properly. I got a nice surprise entry in IFB’s Links A La Mode last Thursday, which is always lovely. I seem to have fallen out of step with the blogging community, which is never a good thing, so this recognition has definitely pulled me out of my funk a little bit and has made me want to get back in participating in all aspects of the community!
The bank holiday is in full swing now and started with my dad’s 50th birthday on Friday at a Chinese restaurant. I also saw Brave yesterday evening with my sister, which was just crazy amazing. I love a good Disney Pixar movie and Princess Merida is just on Pocahontas levels of awesome. I’ve mainly been chilling out today, it’s going to be nice to have a lie in tomorrow but I’ve got a very hectic week ahead and will be heading up for a mini holiday to London! Can’t wait!

    Keep on wishing…

    – Commute reading: Virals by Kathy Reichs – Zara delievry arrived! – Day #9Day #10 – Horrible weather in the morning – Healthy eating is healthy – Day #11 – Sunshine! Woop! – Day #12 Day #13 – Bored at work yesterday – Saturday evening chillaxing with the family –

It’s been a hefty exhausting week. I think I shocked my body into these early wake up calls, now my body clock hates me and I crashed out pretty early yesterday evening (in hindsight it probably wasn’t the best idea to agree to work all day at my Saturday job). Other things that seem to be coming to me a little harder: blogging inspiration and writing.
So I did a post at the beginning of August about creative writing and Camp Nano, it was all about forcing creativity out of your system and how good unpredictability can be. What I didn’t factor in was life getting in the way. I’m failing pretty bad at Camp Nano (not even at halfway point in my novel, boo!) and am finding it hard to garner interest in blogging at the moment. Admittedly August is a pretty quiet time any industry, fashion particularly with not much really exciting or new happening, and  many people indulging in holidays etc. But I guess I’m just going through one of those slumps in inspiration and still trying to get used to a completely new life routine. I probably need a moment to step back and do some admin-y thinking about how I’ll be running this ship for the next year.
But for now I think I’ll just relax a little in the sunshine while it lasts, I’ve scheduled this post as I’m at a BBQ with some family friends.

    Keep on wishing…
