December fast approaches and it’s definitely time to get excited for Christmas and the holidays. Inspired by Louis Vuitton S/S bright white is a very hard trend to pull off, but with the festive party season coming up it’s a trend that will look great in the cold winter months and will be a colour to pull out once Spring and Summer hits too.
Before I launch into this ‘Wear the runway trend now…” I just wanna apologise for being so M.I.A. with blogging lately. I’ve just finished my second week at University and it’s just been so hectic. I’m fairly settled now, getting used to my timetable and working out how to fit blogging into my schedule so hopefully, I’ll be a bit more active with both posting and replying to comments :) …
Right, now that formalities are out of the way, let’s delve into McQueen.
It’s no secret I’m a huge Alexander McQueen fan and Sarah Burton’s S/S12 collection at Paris Fashion Week definitely did not disappoint. It was classic McQueen opulence, ever regal and wonderfully detailed.
The trends I’m picking out to incorporate into your A/W wardrobe are lace and ruffles.
The trick to incorporating this trend is to use it in small doses. Dress the lace top with jeans or the ruffled cardigan with a simple LBD and you can’t go wrong. You can, of course, go for the OTT McQueen look, simply stick to the same colour palette when using both lace and ruffled details to keep the look classy, but I suggest that that look is for the brave hearted.
I’m currently in the middle of a very hectic first week back at University so I’ve only just managed to catch up fully on the Milan Fashion Week collections for Spring/Summer 2012.
One collection which certainly caught my eye was the Just Cavalli presentation. Encompassing the everything sexy about the label the collection had a retro Rock n Roll feel with an added boho twist. From leather to both leopard and snake prints to flowing dresses and shirts, though a S/S collection, I could definitely spot pieces that would easily work into an Autumn/Winter wardrobe.
Below I’ve picked a few of my favourite pieces from around the web to help inspire you to re-create this look now before it becomes big in the Summer.
This is probably the easiest collection of pieces to incorporate into an Autumn Wardrobe with all the darker colours and leather. But once it hits Summer will look great during festival season!
