Travels | Southampton Maritime Festival 2013

Last Bank Holiday Monday, me and fam decided to get out of the house and enjoy the random burst of Spring sunshine and headed down to the Southampton Maritime Festival. At only £5 admission we spent the day exploring and learning about the historical ships and many maritime exhibitions with items dating back to the First World War, and even watched a Hard Hat Diving demonstration. There was also an array of vintage Rolls Royce’s on display, a few of which I’m sure a certain Jay Gatsby would’ve been proud to have owned.

On top of the historical exhibitions there was an abundance of International food stands, lots of vintage clothing stalls, small independent sellers and (of course this is the one I swerved to) a massive book sale with books, old and new, selling for a £1!
All in all it was a lovely way to spend the Bank Holiday and was made even better by the clear blue skies up ahead.
