Summer On The Road | My Ultimate Driving Playlist

summer-driving-playlist
MoneySupermarket are running a little competition and asking people what their ultimate Summer driving playlist. Eagle eyed readers may notice that I don’t drive, but like that’s going to stop me from making one! Just imagine cruising down Route 66 or road tripping it with friends to the beach, or – if you’re like me and will be working most of the Summer – take a deep breath and pump these out on your morning commute.
Joe Brooks | Six String Soldier
Because if there’s any male solo artist who encompasses Summer to me it’s Joe Brooks. His songs just ooze Summer breeze and, of course, he’s making it into this playlist. Six Strong Soldier is definitely my favourite off his most recent album. It’s so damn catchy.

Red Hot Chili Peppers | Higher Ground
If you’re after something to head-bang to then here you go. I recently rekindled my love for this song again, after realising I used to do dance warms up to this at my old musical theatre class, and now am completely addicted to it.

Kate Voegele | Chicago
One of my favourite singer-songwriters, Kate Voegele writes songs that feel like they take you on a journey. This is a break up song but one of those ‘I don’t care about you anymore I’m leaving you (for Chicago)’ break up songs, which make you feel oh so empowered.

Taylor Swift | State Of Grace
Like I wasn’t going to include T-Swizzle on this playlist. It’s perhaps not the most obvious or most well known choice but the drums and guitar provide the perfect beat for cruising down the ol’ country road.

Mumford & Sons | I Will Wait
My sister once commented – whilst we were on a car ride with the ‘rents and listening to my iPod – that listening to Mumford whilst passing the green fields here in England just make you feel like your in a road trip movie or something. So on they playlist they go.

McFLY | Star Girl

Every car journey needs a good epic sing-a-long and this one’s a good ‘un. I’m sure UK readers will know all about the Chris Moyles instigated McFriday from his old Breakfast Show, so we already know this sounds perfect blaring out of car windows down the motorway. But c’mon I dare any of you not to join in the ‘Ooo’s once this starts playing.

So let me know what you think about my playlist. What would be on yours?
