The couture shows in Paris this past week may have been showcasing the best of this year’s Fall 2015 collections but there was certainly a hint ethereal summer inspiration sprinkled all over the runways for this couture season. fall2015couture-atelier-versace

Kicking off the highlights for Fall 2015 was Atelier Versace‘s tribute to the hippie movement, with the likes of Kendall and Karlie draped in pastel silk dresses. The collection itself was a much softer look from Versace, with bodices were looser and fabrics flowed behind models who were also sporting floral motifs and delicate flower crowns.

My absolute favourite time of day is just before the sun sets.

Rush hour has been and gone, your dinner has likely settled in your stomach, and the world isn’t quite ready to go to bed just yet. If the sky is clear and cloudless – heck even if it isn’t – golden hour creeps across the world. It’s that magical moment when the sun hits that perfect sweet spot just about the horizon and rooftops creating the most dreamiest shades of blue.

One of my favourite things to do at that time of the veining is to stop, take a second and just stare at the sky. We spend so much of our time rushing around all day or glued to our phones/computers/tablets that we forget to pause, take a deep breathe and clear your mind. Golden hour is the most perfect time to do this. It’s almost made for contemplation.

So look to the skies this evening.

Embrace the last few rays of the day.

  • Beauty | The Little Soap Company & Naked Haircare Review

I seem to have extend my cruelty free pledge outwards from make-up recently. Bodycare seems to be an area not really talked about too much in terms of cruelty free companies (and when it does Lush tends to dominate this arena!) but I thought I’d share two I’ve discovered recently.

Started by former PR agent, Emma Heathcote-James, The Little Soap Company was established 5 years ago out of Emma’s need for a little stress relief and love of green beauty. Since then the soaps, still manufactured here in the UK, are now stocked on the shelves of both Tesco and Waitrose, and provide a nice little cruelty free and environmentally friendly alternative to the usual soap brands.

I found the Organic English Lavender and Citrus bar in my local Tescos and gosh is it lush! As well as the soothing hit of lavender (which is perfect for washing away your troubles at the end of the day) you also get the refreshing citrus scent to perk you up a bit too – perfect for trying to cool down on hot Summer evenings! I have fallen a little in love with the lavender/citrus combo, but I wouldn’t say no to trying out the rest of their organic range too – they have peppermint and rosemary scents too.
