My soundtrack today was brought to me by the ever flawless Taylor Swift, who’s album has pretty much been on repeat this week. All Too Well is definitely a firm favourite for me plus Everything Has Changed (ft Ed Sheeran).
One of those weeks where I’ve removed myself a little from the fashion blogging world to throw myself into the other stuff that I love.
Finally figured out the song that’s been going around my head for the past month has been Forever by Haim. Ironically I found them on Who What Wear as part of their ‘The New Girls’ blog post. As well as new music I was delving into old loves, namely McFly. I’m often criticised and even questioned why I love this band so much. Now I have a book to back up my argument. I’ll probably review it in full at some point – maybe on Blogger’s Bookshelf, cheeky plug! – but my overall feeling from their autobiography Unsaid Things was just overwhelming pride. ‘My boys’ have grown up and overcome alot, maybe not the struggles most celebs have, but they’ve gotten through it all with each other’s support. *le sigh* ok I’m fangirling again…
My new commute read is Delirium by Lauren Oliver, another one for the review list! I’m only about halfway through but I’m pleasantly surprised.
Apart from that it’s been the same old, can’t quite believe it’s nearly November! I would’ve been at my placement for around 4 months and it’s almost time for the festive season…mental stuff!
Another Autumnal week in October. The weather is no sufficiently cold enough to legitimately wear coats and boots wahey! Apologies for the single post this week, I’ve been feeling so tired recently, definitely in one of those ‘need a kick up the bum’ moods at the moment!
Taking a break from the office I got to head up to London for the afternoon for meeting. After it finished I mulled around the city for a bit with no real destination before I had to get my train. It’s seriously my favourite thing to do in London. With a tube pass in hand you can really just get off at any stop and find yourself somewhere interesting – although I did make sure I was back at Waterloo station before dark! One thing I made sure I did was scope out the LeakyCon London venue, the Grand Connaught Ballrooms. It’s amazing and impressive and that’s just the outside. Also excited to know there were a few fashion week shows held there this year, namely Temperley’s show. After I geeked out on my lonesome I got the tube to Embankment and just strolled over the bridge to the station. I love the London skyline and always feel a little sad walking away from it. Maybe one day I’ll get to see it everyday on my way to work.
Something extremely exciting and lovely is the birth of Erin and I’s book blog project! We’ve been in super organisation mode the past few weeks to set it up and it’s finally here! It’s in it’s baby stages at the moment in terms of content and design but will definitely evolve in the next few months. We’ve got an amazing team of contributors who are raring and ready to start posting soon. So keep an eye out for exciting things from bloggersbookshelf.blogspot.co.uk :)
