I managed to get sick in the last week of November and couldn’t get much else done other than lie in bed feeling sorry for myself and re-read a favourite fanfic of mine – don’t judge. So apart from resting up, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We got our decorations out in our house and at work and I’ve even done most of my Christmas shopping already this year! It’s really about to get busy the next few weeks with Christmas parties and prep for the end of the year, can any of you believe how time has flown? The most exciting news of the week has definitely been my blog’s 2nd birthday! In celebration I opened up a giveaway yesterday, so make sure you check out the post and enter. The giveaway closes on the 22nd December, so be sure to get your entries in!Other than that, Blogger’s Bookshelf is still going strong, I have a review coming tomorrow actually ;), and we’re looking for guest bloggers! Message me, Erin or Blogger’s Bookshelf with a review of your favourite book or tweet us if you want to get involved.I’m also writing a NaNoWriMo round up post with Lucy and some other fellow WriMo’s, again message me if you want to get involved and share your experiences. Because of the crazy busy-ness of November I only hit 20k, but am still pretty chuffed I even managed to do that!Keep on wishing…R.xoxo -
This Week…
– Day #56 – RED! – morning coffee after stressful train delays/cancellations – Day #57 – Autumn leaves – Day #58 – Editing my Blogger’s Bookshelf post photos – Day #59 – Misty mornings – Pink Day cupcakes at work last Friday – Day #60 (Pink Day outfit) – Yay for winter coats – Girl’s night out looking Mia Von Glitz – Halloween decor in all of the clubs – Less glamorous Sunday in my hoodie –Soundtrack: All Too Well – Taylor SwiftBetter late than never with this post. I owe the lateness to my laziness this Sunday morning, but isn’t it nice to just forget about blogging and work and just relax a little?
My soundtrack today was brought to me by the ever flawless Taylor Swift, who’s album has pretty much been on repeat this week. All Too Well is definitely a firm favourite for me plus Everything Has Changed (ft Ed Sheeran). The temperature has finally dropped for acceptable Autumnal/Winter dressing this week and I got to dig out my Forever 21 coat I got over the Summer, woop for layering! I was also crawl out of my introvert hole this week and actually socialised – what! – with a girls night out yesterday. After panic buying two tops at work, neither of them fit. So I hastily improvised an outfit – the top half of which was an old kimono top I had from TK Maxx worn as a wrap top (which I wore a vest top underneath), then tucked into a pair of tailored shorts. That along with my fake leather jacket made up the most impressively improvised outfit I have ever put together – proud fashion blogger moment right there.Safely back in the blogging world and I’m gonna shamelessly plug my collaborative book blog – Blogger’s Bookshelf! Our maiden post went out on Friday, just introducing what’s about to go down, and the first review – written by yours truly – will be live tomorrow! I’m really proud of what me and the ever amazingly organised Erin have managed to pull together, and hope that all of said organisation has paid off! Still not too late to get in touch if you want to be a guest blogger though – just visit the blog for contact details :)Keep in wishing…R.xoxo -
This Week…
– New Books! Yay! – Day #46 – Fleece-y Pj’s – Day #47 – Coffee & working from home for the morning – LeakyCon 2013 venue Ahhhhh! 298 days :) – More coffee on the way home from… – London! – Day #48 – JK Rowling webcast – Day #49 – Day #50 – Cinnamon roll treat after work yesterday – Lovely Autumnal evening – I want all the things!! –Soundtrack: Tesselate by alt-j
Another Autumnal week in October. The weather is no sufficiently cold enough to legitimately wear coats and boots wahey! Apologies for the single post this week, I’ve been feeling so tired recently, definitely in one of those ‘need a kick up the bum’ moods at the moment!
Taking a break from the office I got to head up to London for the afternoon for meeting. After it finished I mulled around the city for a bit with no real destination before I had to get my train. It’s seriously my favourite thing to do in London. With a tube pass in hand you can really just get off at any stop and find yourself somewhere interesting – although I did make sure I was back at Waterloo station before dark! One thing I made sure I did was scope out the LeakyCon London venue, the Grand Connaught Ballrooms. It’s amazing and impressive and that’s just the outside. Also excited to know there were a few fashion week shows held there this year, namely Temperley’s show. After I geeked out on my lonesome I got the tube to Embankment and just strolled over the bridge to the station. I love the London skyline and always feel a little sad walking away from it. Maybe one day I’ll get to see it everyday on my way to work.
Something extremely exciting and lovely is the birth of Erin and I’s book blog project! We’ve been in super organisation mode the past few weeks to set it up and it’s finally here! It’s in it’s baby stages at the moment in terms of content and design but will definitely evolve in the next few months. We’ve got an amazing team of contributors who are raring and ready to start posting soon. So keep an eye out for exciting things from bloggersbookshelf.blogspot.co.uk :)Keep on wishing…R.xoxo
