Whilst quietly browsing the red carpet and gossip sites one little photo caught my eye immediately. It was the image above of Lily Collins at the Rome premiere of her latest film, ‘Love, Rosie’, in a -quite frankly – breathtaking Elie Saab couture gown. Not only was this my absolute favourite from the collection – and a gown very much on my red carpet wishlist since I saw it float down the catwalk, but Lily herself looked stunning having styled this look up with a bold lip and retro-inspired waves. What started as a quick mooch at Lily’s red carpet attire turned into a look back into the Zimbio archives at the evolution of Lily’s style.
Lily is no stranger to the fashion world with her big break sartorial moment all the way back in 2007, wearing a feathered and embellished Chanel gown to the famed Crillon Debutante Haute Couture Ball – eagle eyed watchers of The Hills will remember it! Since then she’s been conquering the film world with such movies as Abduction, Mirror Mirror and The Mortal Instruments.
Known for her Hepburn-esque features, Lily isn’t afraid of fashion forward looks on the red carpet and during promotional tours. She’s taken on gothic fairytale, modern minimalist and even rock chic, and is definitely one of the most versatile fashionistas on the red carpet at the moment.
Though part of Hollywood royalty, Lily is only at the beginning of what looks to be a long career in the industry. I know I look forward to seeing what’s next for Ms. Collins in the future.
