Here we go guys, it’s time for the last fashion week round up of the Spring/Summer 2016 season and boy is it a good one. Paris Fashion Week is definitely the city filled with some of the biggest and most recognised names in designer fashion, so you can imagine coming up with this top 5 was one of the hardest to come up with. But here they are…

Balmain
Once the purveyor of the body con dress this season sees Balmain give us a lesson in flamboyant excess. Hot off the back of their H&M collaboration this collection catapults the label into true designer artistry, embellished with that trademark Balmain sexiness. There were ruffles, there was mesh and, yes, there was body con (Rousteing can’t resist a form fitting skirt) but everything everything felt polished and powerful – much like the women the label decided to parade down the runway. What also felt different this season was the palette. Utterly sumptuous and warm, oozing with chocolate tones contrasting with bright greens and oranges.
Who’ll be sporting it? Kim Kardashian, Elizabeth Banks, and Serayah

The Row
The Olsen’s have gone back to the city of love (anyone remember Passport to Paris? Anyone?) This season The Row have chosen to forgo their usual spot in New York and instead debuted their Spring/Summer collection just outside of the Paris fashion week circuit in the gardens of a beautiful French chateau. The move have proved completely fruitful for the designers, as this collection oozes classic cool. The Row’s aesthetic has been given a Parisian facelift whilst still capturing the downtown cool of Manhattan – think effortlessly chic pieces with the oversized lines the Olsens are now famous for
Who’ll be sporting it? Solange Knowles, Lorde, and Julianne Moore

Elie Saab
If there’s one name that’s become synonymous with the red carpet it’s Elie Saab. This is certainly not the label’s first outing into the ready to wear market but there’s definitely less evening wear than usual. There’s a plethora of candy colours (pinks and purples galore!) among the lashing of lace, pretty florals and pussy bows. The pieces this season are more fun, more flirty, but ultimately they’re still red carpet worthy (think MTV Movies Awards ready than a trip to the Golden Globes or the Oscars). And if you’re missing the evening wear there’s some fantastic finale gowns on the ground.
Who’ll be sporting it? Bella Thorne, Maddie Zeigler, and Anna Kendrick

Dries Van Noten
It’s one thing to create wonderfully cut and everlasting pieces, it’s another thing to reinvent the wheel and turn classic on its head. This season a bit of tropical flare has seeped into the printed pieces at Dries Van Noten. The colours are clashing and the fabrics shimmered metallic and it all looks wonderful! What keeps this collection from looking like a mismatched mess are the classic cuts I mentioned before. The tea dresses hark back to early Hollywood, the swing coats have a sniff of the 60s about them, and the parachute pants are gliding in from the 1980s. All of these are given a fresh spin thanks to the label’s Spring/Summer colour palette, creating a collection that is just so much fun!
Who’ll be sporting it? Amandla Stenberg, Gwen Stefani, and Dita Von Teese

Vionnet
And finally, we may be ending this fashion week season in Paris, but Vionnet’s Spring/Summer collection feels more like modern day Grecian goddess. Pieces floated down the catwalk in shades of light grey, nudes and faded whites, with the prettiest subtle pleats and swinging sheer silk. It’s an absolutely dream of a collection to end my recap of the season on!
Who’ll be sporting it? Natalie Portman, Felicity Jones, and Lupita N’yong’o
That may be a wrap on my recaps but I’m totally coming away from this fashion season totally inspired! Make sure you check out my favourites from New York, Paris and Milan, and let me know which shows were your favourites.
