Song of the month: Coming Home by Busted

May feels like a limbo month. It lands just after the excitement of April and my birthday and Bank Holidays, and just before the promise of June, July and August, Summer activities and warmer weather. I struggled with blogging this month. A spout of blogger’s block is never helpful when you actually want to blog. This coupled with a bout of cold and awful cough has meant I’ve taken some time for some much needed rest and relaxation. May has been quiet to say the least, bar the socialising I’ve been doing during the all too small spurt of Summer weather we had a few weeks back. The sunshine always brings out the best in people and I’ve definitely tried making the most of it whilst I can.

And not one to go out without a bang. This past Bank Holiday had me pop along to London, with mini-Cagz in tow to go see Busted at the O2 Arena. I left the concert just buzzing and wanting to write entire posts about how much this band influenced the early days of my love of guitar-led music – not to mention the fact that I never thought I’d ever get to watch Matt, James and Charlie reunited on stage after the split.

Despite this last spurt of busy-ness I think it’s fair to say I’ve been more reflective in May. I’ve filled massive chunks of brain dump into my journal, managed to get a couple of books done and dusted, and have just generally been trying to just take stock of my life right now. First stop? Getting back on this blogging train. Then? Getting back with it with life in general before jetting off on a mini break to Dublin mid-June with the lovely Erin.
